What Voodoo is this in the fan art!

So I was just messing around at work during lunch and I just decided to check the SP website. I saw something about fan-art in the Hooey and went to check it out. I saw Fox up there and completely forgot about the little photoshop thing I did once like, 5 years ago and forgot Bob (or maybe Roon) had put it up in the fanart section. But then I saw my name was linked, and it was linked to All Things Media.

But I was still in school when I put that up! I hadn't started working there until 2 and a half years later! And I also don't check forums while I'm at work. HOW DO YOU KNOW WHERE I WORK BOB!

Well actually... A few years ago everyone on the old boards got bored, there was nothing fun or interesting to do and we were all just milling about. Then Chubs came up with a great new game, called "The Great Fox Hunt". He PMed it to everyone (except you, of course). Phil and Tom loved the idea, so it was given the go ahead. We were all supposed to stalk your every move, and report back to the group. Everyone was playing the game at first, then most got bored and stopped. Apparently you're quite boring most of the time, and the novelty of stalking you wore off quickly. Anyway, a few die hard Fox Hunters kept up, and long story short, we know your every move. And by-the-way, ew dude, just ew.

That is to say, only Atlas cared enough to keep it up. I mean seriously, yawn.

Nice, deflecting your sick stalking urges onto me. Tsk, tsk, Hatter. I just keep up on the Fox Hunt newsletter you release every second Thursday. I put them in the guest bathroom for the Hasidic Jew-Fu Masters that stop by on their pilgrimage to Ozland. <_<

Hell, I wish I had time for stalking. I still haven't watched these three Netflix DVDs I ordered, and I've had them for about two and a half months now. I am crazy busy. (I mean hell, it took me thirty minutes just to finish typing this ridiculous post because I had to keep stopping to take business calls.)

This isn't Fight Club... or /b/, it's Sacred Pie. And the first rule of Sacred Pie is, you gotta tell everyone about Sacred Pie. The second rule of Sacred Pie is, you have to force everyone you know to read the Retardazar chapter.

Also, while just googling that, I found a random SP review with the following comment.

RETARDAZAR? While I'm a guy who doesn't offend easily, I just have to say that laughing at retards solely because of their disability is not cool. That doesn't mean you can't have fun with them, but at least be a little creative. If I were going to make a funny situation involving a retarded person, I'd have him control a giant mech or something like that, give him a little sense of empowerment, not just laughing at him because he's retarded. Timmy and Jimmy from South Park are a good example of retards being funny but not just because they're retarded.

I know Bob shuns that part of the story, but I just think it's funny how he goes on about laughing at retarded people as if Retardazar was a person.

Kind of old news. I remember this from the old boards.
The early chapters tend to put a lot of people off for some reason. Sure, I admit it isn't the best arc of the story, but it is still very enjoyable. In fact I love the Retardazar chapter. It's part of the charm of Sacred Pie for me - the once a week updates, yeah not so much. But of course I saw it for what it was, a play on words more than on anything else. Some people are incapable of seeing past their own nose.

It's not that they care for poor Retardazar, it's the implication that retards wear rubber helmets and diapers that offends most, because as we all know, that's just a stereotype.

I mean, just look at you guys.

Re: What Voodoo is this in the fan art!

HEY! I don't wear rubber pants! And the helmet just makes me look cool.

The mentally challenged are always a touchy subject. Most people feel the need to defend them because they think they themselves are incapable of their own defense. This ordinarily is not the case, and in my experience most have found this more insulting than anything else.

I used to go to school with a kid who was labeled retarded. We took goverment and public speaking together (a lot of arguments were had during class, and I mean a lot). Sure he was a little slow on certain things, but hell so am I, but it affected his speech and a few of his motor skills. So, when anyone first met him, they treated him like Rain Man. This pissed him off to no end, and would often rant at me for extended periods (and often uncomfortably close to my face - bad breath) about this. Now he was majorly into his Christianity, and he was obviously a future republican, so we would often get into loud discussions. Everyone who knew us, knew that even though we were friends that we were both on opposite ends of the political and religious spectrum, so we both usually ended up on opposite sides of discussion groups. As you all can attest, I like to play devils advocate, often taking the other side or less popular argument just to test it and yours. It is something of great interest to me. Anyway, now that I've got that out of the way...
One day we were both ended up at an event together - neither of us knowing the other would be there - and ended up at a table with some other random people. Like always someone comments of something they read, or in the news and I somehow get involved in the discussion. Now I knew that the second I finished my statement that Isaac would come and jump into the conversation, because he can't stand to let me off the hook for anything. He does just that, but because of his speech impediment, and the arm and shoulder ticks, it takes him a while. Now I had heard him make an argument similar to this before and knew where he was headed with it, so I cut him off and started to josh him about it. The people at the table didn't know that we knew each other, or that Isaac may have had trouble doing certain things, but was honestly much smarter than all of them. They all looked like I had just crapped in the hot tub, or punched an old lady holding a baby. So, Isaac, being the douche he is turns to them and says, "I know he's retarded, but it's rude to stare".

tl;dr? Most people are idiots. Ignore them whenever possible.

Re: What Voodoo is this in the fan art!

Hahaha, that's awesome. He sounds like the kind of guy I'd make friends with. In fact, I was very good friends with a right wing nut up until recently when he turned out to be a way bigger retard than Isaac (he couldn't get over McCain/Palin losing so he took to calling me a stupid, brainwashed socialist/liberal with every other word).
